[Opinions] Re: Voltairine

Wow. Now there's a name to chew on.
I love the sound of it. And the association to Voltaire is definitely a plus. I don't know who Voltairine de Clayre was, but I'm sure she's worthy of the honor. (I lie -- I just did a wikipedia search). It reminds me of Polaire, which I find endlessly elegant and Victorine / Zephyrine who dance in my head.
That said, Voltairine is asking alot to give as someone's actual name. The "i's" in it make my eyes have to refocus. It's not that easy to look at, visually.
But I'm nothing if not an addict to a name challenge. So here goes:
Voltairine Mary Clare (for Ms Wollestonecraft and Mr. Darrow) -- simple, but it rings true
Voltairine Harriet Eugenia (for son Harry and Mr. Debs)
Voltairine Philadelphia Thoreau (you said go wild)
Voltairine Mary Thomasine / Tamsin (it rhymes, but honors Ms Wollestonecraft and Mr. Paine)
Less honoring, but equally fetching (I hope):
Voltairine Lucy Matilda
Voltairine Mary Adele
Voltairine Sylvie Aurora
Voltairine Nora Abigail
Voltairine Emma Beatrice (gets Ms Goldman in there)
Voltairine Annabel Sophie
Voltairine Zelda Marion
Voltairine Silvestra Pax
Voltairine Ramona Lucy
Voltairine Georgia Emily (I think she would have liked Ms Dickinson)
Voltairine Mabel Susannah
Voltairine Maia Persephone
Voltairine Cora Adelaide
Voltairine Sibyl Minerva
Voltairine Louisa Beatrix
Voltairine Sojourner Hannah (we can't forget Ms Truth)
Voltairine Clio Isidora
Voltairine Winifred Alice / Alix
I could go on and on. Mix and match, of course. Are there any that you fancy -- or that make you think of another combo? Any feedback is appreciated.
I would be tempted to use the nn V / Vee.
Wow. She was something. Very brave and a century ahead of her time. Thanks for introducing her to me / us. :-)

Voltairine Philadelphia Thoreau is positively swoonworthy. These are amazing suggestions!
I'd like to participate, but sorry, Kellie, I'm not up to the challenge right now. Did not get enough sleep last night! Maybe I'll try later after a nap. :)

Wow wow wow Voltairine Philadelphia Thoreau. I might use that as a chaacter.
Wow a lot of these are really good. Sometimes you just have to skim. Voltairine Clio Isidora SO GOOD.

Skimming is fun too. It's like window shopping, only with name lists, right?
Wow!
Excellent! Thanks not only for the feedback (I always enjoy the names you bring up, btw) but also for the dedication to finding other honourary names along the same line! I'm always happy to introduce Voltairine to someone new :-)
I like-
Voltairine Mary - I cut the Claire out since I thought it was too much "air" sound, but this is very pretty and makes for great balance of wacky and stable.
Voltairine Philadelphia Thoreau - This is way too wild to realistically use, but I have to list it just because Thoreau would make such a badass middle name ;)
Voltairine Mary Tamsin
Voltairine Mary Adele - Soooo pretty. I love Mary Adele together. My usual combo is Jonquil Mary Adele, but this is just as intoxicating.
Voltairine Sylvie - Reminds me of Sylvia Pankhurst, which is stellar
Voltairine Emma Beatrice - WOOO. So much excellence! Love that you got Goldman in!
Voltairine Silvestra Pax - Again a little too hot to handle, but just beaming with beauty and badassery nonetheless
Voltairine Ramona Lucy - Excellent and very spunky
Voltairine Sibyl Minerva
Voltairine Louisa Beatrix
Voltairine Winifred Alice - I'm not a Winifred fan but she sounds wonderful in this combo. Or even just Voltairine Alice would be lovely, I think.
I realise Voltairine is a lot of name to handle, but I figure if Miss de Cleyre can do it, I'm good ;-)
Thanks again for the fabulous suggestions!

Yay. Glad you liked them.
And you beat me to the Pankhurst punch. I was thinking last night after I logged off that Voltairine Sylvia Christabel would make a spirited combo.
