[Opinions] Jennica
Jennica or JenicaI heard this name in a book (Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Mariller) and I wanted to know what you guys this of it. Here are a few questions. How would you pronounce it:
How would you categorize it (modern, trendy, classic):
What do you think of it in all?The book prononced it Je-NEE-kah with the J pronounced like the g in mirage. It sounds classic to me, though sounds aren't always right. I actually really really, like this name!

I've always understood that Jennica is a cross between Jennifer and Jessica. I'd pr. it JENN-i-ca and would definitely classify it as modern. I don't care for it much. Then again, it's heaps better than Jessifer!

That just sounds funny... like some sort of cruel and unusual punishment.

I knew one girl with this name, and she pronounced it JENN nick a. I actually always have thought it was really beautiful, but it's kind of a trendy made-up 1970s name (like Jennifer + Jessica). You're probably not going to have a lot of fans of it on this board!

Like Jessica, but w/ an n sound instead of an s... I guess either spelling is ok. It's a nice change from some of the other Jen names and from Jessica... Made-up name, but still at least sounds like a name.

I agreeI know it is made-up but it actually is usable in spots but not as usable as extremely unpopular names such as Gladys or Ruth for that matter.

Ruth seems to be gaining a bit more popularity the past few years depending where one lives actually. I do think it's often used as a mn and therefore not seen as much.

Knew a Jennica in high school, she pronounced it JENN-i-ca. Like a combination of Jennifer and Jessica, which I'm pretty sure is where the name comes from so it sounds a bit made up and trendy to me. I would probably spell je-NEE-kah like Geneaka or something, which on second though looks terrible. Hmmm...

That is a pretty way to say it. That's how I read it when I first read the book until I found a key in the back since a lot of the names were Romanian.
