[Opinions] Anabelle
I have posted responses (and some plain old posts) with the name Anabelle in combos, and a lot of the time I've gotten answers saying that I should just change Anabelle to Anabel, Annabel, or Annabelle. I've also gotten that Anabelle is too kre8ive. My question is that is there really a need to change a name just so that it looks right to other people? Does Anabelle seem fine to you, or is your mind set on Anabel/Annabel/Annabelle? Does changing one simple letter in the name make it kre8tive?

If you use a familiar spelling, you save your child from having to explain, repeat, spell out loud etc for the rest of her life. That's worth it.
Ana is typically Portuguese; maybe also Spanish, I don't know. But -belle is typically French. Odd mixture.
Annabel is the original spelling; Annabelle, like Isabelle, is familiar in English - especially American English - but opinions are divided. Some think it's more feminine, others that it's too frilly and fussy. So that's a matter of choice. Anabelle just looks wrong to me: have you seen it used somewhere, or did you decide on it yourself?

I found Anabelle on a young girl who is of Spanish and French descent. The father is French, mother an immigrant from Spain. I think it's a lovely way to combine the two cultures in one name. The parents also pronounce it AH-na-bel instead of how you would typically pronounce Annabel
I strongly prefer Annabel, myself. Do what you think is best, though.
I actually prefer the way Anabelle looks over Anabel. I don't think that Anabelle looks kre8tive, but I prefer Annabel and Annabelle if you're planning on pronouncing it ANN-a-bell rather than AH-na-bell. Considering that I've heard Anabel pronounced AH-na-bell and ANN-a-bell, Anabelle looks like it might render AH-na-bell sometimes, but Anabelle is similar enough to Annabelle that people would probably usually pronounce it the same way as Annabelle and Annabel.
I wouldn't say it's specifically kre8tive... just that in certain languages that would lean more towardes the belle ending, they'd tend to double the l and in Span., where they'd tend to just have 1 n, they'd also tend to have just 1 l and no extra e. Annabel also lookes weird to me. Anabel feels like somethings missing, but it's ok because that's prob'ly due to having more of a Fr. feel for "belle" names. Annabelle feels most complete.
The history of it also causes Anabel to make sense for sp.

I love Anabelle! It seems like a great spelling, but everyone has their opinions. I also really like Annabelle, don't really like Annabel/Anabel a whole lot. But again I really like this spelling the most too :)
