[Opinions] Sabatina
I've recently come across this in a talk show. Sabatina James was a guest. It's not her real name. She had to change it because she needs to hide from her family who threatened to kill her.
She pronounces the name zah-bah-TEE-nah which I think is really pretty. As it's tied to her sad story, I don't think I'd use it but I like it. WDYT?

first thought on seeing it is it reminds me of sabotage, but it's prn'd differently... kinda so-so, I guess.

Hmm. Interesting. I think it's a little frilly for me; it sounds a little too much. On another note, if this woman is hiding from her family, why go on tv? :P

On another note, if this woman is hiding from her family, why go on tv?Because she wants to speak out as an activist. Her family wanted to force her into marriage with her cousin when she was seventeen and she is trying to help girls in the same situation. She is both trying to raise awareness that forced marriages do exist worldwide and promoting her charity organization that helps girls escape. So she's basically telling her story.

Really neat name. How does it simultaneously evoke thoughts of Sabbath and sabotage? Weird. I think I like the name.

It looks like a Spanish play on the word sábado (Saturday). Not a bad name, but not really my style either. ETA: I looked it up and sabatina is a Portuguese word meaning 'revision test'. Sabatino is a Spanish adjective for things to do with Saturday.

I didn't know that it is a Portuguese word. Thank you!

I like the sound of it, very melodic. I don't like that it immediately evokes the word sabath.

I googled Sabatina and found a baby name site that says it is actually related to the word Sabbath.

I like it. A lot actually. It sounds...not made up, but like it's of an odd origin. But, anyhoo, i do really like that! :)

From what I know through googling it isn't made up. Seems to be of Hebrew origin and related to the word Sabbath. Well, that's what one baby name site says...
