Hmm. Interesting. I think it's a little frilly for me; it sounds a little too much. On another note, if this woman is hiding from her family, why go on tv? :P

Because she wants to speak out as an activist. Her family wanted to force her into marriage with her cousin when she was seventeen and she is trying to help girls in the same situation. She is both trying to raise awareness that forced marriages do exist worldwide and promoting her charity organization that helps girls escape. So she's basically telling her story.
