I like it as a nn for Penelope or Eleanor, but it can most definitely stand on its own. Eleanor Ruby nn Nella-Rue is my absolute favourite Nella combo. One of the bloggers I read frequently has a baby daughter named Nella Cordelia which I think is quite striking.
