[Opinions] Re: Hawkeye

Hawkeye is badass, but the problem is that it's nothing but badass. You have to remember that you can't account for whether your son will grow up to be a badass. He might be very timid and conventional. Even if you give him a nice fallback name he's still stick with Hawkeye preceding it on rolls, ¡ob applications, drivers licenses. It's fun to play with but I cannot give it my stamp of Actual approval for a child.
As a middle name he would go by it would be slightly better. I noticed your combo Hawkeye Robert, which is very good and would work well reversed too. The other combo I like the most is Hawkeye Thomas / Thomas Hawkeye.

I think just because the name Hawkeye might seem "badass" doesn't mean that the child Hawkeye will be. He will grow up to be whoever he wants and the name will change with him. If he grows up to be a wild adventurous person Hawkeye will seem like a wild name to anyone who knows him. And if he grows up to be a quiet bookworm the name will seem like a quiet name to everyone who knows him. Just like you could give a girl a really frilly name like Evangelina and she might grow up to be a tomboy and not frilly at all.
I think if he grew up to be a bookworm, people would think the name and child were mismatched and it would be better suited to an airforce pilot or something.
