Help[Opinions] Wait, is Tatum pronounced TAY-tem or TAH-tem?
TAH-tem with an elongated "ahh" sound, like when a dentist asks you to say "Ah". Okay, I'm starting to sound like a total nutcase, but which is it?

Tay-tum. I've never heard the other pronunciation.

I know a Tatum, and she pronounces her name "TAY-tem"

I know several Tatum's and it's always Tay-tum.

I pronounce it TAT-um (the TAT as in tattoo). I've only known one Tatum before, and this is how she pronounced it.

I just googled tater tots as I've heard them mentioned a lot on American blogs. I had asssumed for some reason that they were a type of sweets (maybe like jelly tots) but they seem to be like potato croquettes! I hadn't made the tater / potato connection, even though my grandad always called potatos taters. At least that's another mystery solved.

I've only heard TAY-tum, when people referred to Tatum O'Neal.
I suspect the only reasons this name is in use at all, especially for girls, is because of O'Neal, and as the comments on this site say, "It sounds masculine" and "Quite a good compromise if you want a non-girly name without "stealing" from the boy's camp." I'm amazed it's broken into the top 500. I dislike it a lot.

This site says it should be pronounce like "a" in "cat". I don't actually know anyone named Tatum so I don't know.

In English Tatum is pronounced with TAY.

I've always pronounced it and heard it as tay-tem, I've never heard it pronounced TAH-tem.
