It was the first day of your new teaching job at
______________ High School. You were nervous about meeting your students, and hoped none of them will cause trouble. A fellow teacher,
______________, read over your roll before school and recognized most of the names as good, well-behaved students. A few she was unfamilar with, and a few others she knew weren't the most studious, but she assured you they weren't bad kids.
You sat at your desk, anxiously awaiting the first bell that would signify to the kids that they should begin finding their classrooms.
Finally, it rang. One girl had apparently been waiting outside the door. She ran in and introduced herself, with a huge smile. She was pretty, small, and had fluffy, light brown hair down to her elbows. Her name was
______________. She sat in the first row and eagerly began telling you about her older sister,
______________, who had graduated the year before and was starting college.
Next came another girl. The first girl greeted her by her first name. You glanced at your roll sheet, scanning the names until you found the girl.
______________. She was apparently close friends with the other girl because they jumped into an easy conversation. While they talked, you looked over the new girl. She leaned on a desk and clutched a pink notebook as if were her lifeline. She seemed nervous, but you sensed it was because of the new school year.
A tall, lanky boy with bright, intelligent blue eyes came in next. He didn't speak to you or the girls, but you suspected him to be
______________. Another teacher had warned you about him - he was a good student, but he liked to point out any mistakes you made in teaching, and start friendly debates.
He was followed by another boy. This one was shorter, with black hair falling into his face and covering eyes you thought were pale grey. He wore jeans and a T-shirt for a classic rock band. He was greeted as
______________, and took a seat in the back.
Three students came in next, all talking together. The two girls were
______________ and
______________, and the boy was
______________. You gathered this from their conversation, which seemed to be about what they did over the summer, with a bit of gossip sprinkled in. The two girls wore cheerleader uniforms in the school's colors,
______________ and
______________ . The boy was dressed in jeans and a white and red striped button-up shirt, and flashed a dazzling smile whenever either girl looked at him.
In came
______________, next. She was a short, overweight girl who walked quickly, hunched over the books in her arms. You were confused about why she was carrying books on the first day, but when she sat them down on a desk in the front row, you saw she had a binder, two notebooks, and a dictionary, and a copy of Pride and Prejudice. You thought briefly that she would probably be interesting to have in class.
You were then distracted by another group coming in. You figured the three boys to be
______________,
______________ and
______________. They sat near the cheerleaders and acted a little rowdy to try to catch their attention. The girls said hello to them, calling them by name, and went back to the conversation they had been having.
Next came
______________. She was one student you were somewhat worried about. You looked her over as she sat in the back of the room with the first two boys who came in. Her big green eyes watched them, almost vulnerably as they started a conversation with her. Occasionally, she let out a gaspy little laugh that made them laugh, too. You knew from talking to other teachers that this girl didn't like to do the school work assigned to her; she normally preferred to read books brought from home and talk to the two boys, or
______________,
______________ and
______________, a few of her friends who you didn't have in class.
After her came
______________. He was short, pimple-faced boy who had a smile that lit up the room. He introduced himself to you and took a seat in the front row.
______________ closely followed him and took the seat next to him, filling up the front row. She was a very pretty girl, with dark brown curls falling over her shoulders and pretty, pale blue eyes. Her long lashes held a neat coat of mascara, and as she sat she pulled out a lip gloss to go over her smiling mouth. She greeted the boys and cheerleaders behind her, then started a conversation with the boy next to her. They seemed to be good friends.
A group came in next. The two girls,
______________ and
______________, you later learned were two of the show choir's most prized members, and the boy,
______________, was a member of the band. All three were attractive looking and well-dressed teens. The first girl said hi to most of the other students, but the other acted a little rudely towards them. The boy was too distracted by his cell phone to pay much attention either way. Later, you guessed he had been texting his girlfriend,
______________, a tiny, pretty girl who was on the soccer team.
After them was
______________, a member of the football team. Before coming into class, he said goodbye to his girlfriend,
______________ in the hallway. She joined her best friend,
______________, and they went to find their own classes.
______________ came next. She wasn't very attention-grabbing when she first walked in and took a seat by herself, but after watching her you began to wonder why. She was very pretty and turned out to be just as friendly, although she rarely seemed eager to start a conversation with anyone.
Next came
______________, a very tall girl who wore basketball shorts and a T-shirt. Her long blond hair was up in a ponytail that bounced as she walked across the room. She scanned the faces for someone she knew, but apparently came up empty, as she sat by herself.
______________,
______________, and
______________ came next. The two girls lead the way, looking proud of themselves for some reason. They chewed their gum and talked loudly, all the while texting. They weren't badly dressed, but on closer examination, the shorter one nearly stepped out of her too-big heels every time she moved, and the larger one's jeans had to have been uncomfortable, they were so small. The boy sat with them, but mostly kept to himself. He had thin blonde hair and blue eyes, and talked with a slight stutter.
The last student was
______________. He joined the other football player and began a conversation with him. They both laughed often and glanced around the room at the other students.
Soon, the bell rang and you called the class to order. To your pleasant surprise, none of the kids acted out of line.
Might be judged if there are enough responses. :)
