Didn't
Pandora do the world some good as well? When I was little, I loved the story of
Pandora. I could relate to her opening the box full of the world's ills, but more importantly, I loved her because in the version I had on a tape, at the very bottom of the box lay Hope--and I thought that she did the world good by bringing
Hope into it. That could've been a little extra added in to nicen it up for the children, but when I hear the name, I still think of curiosity and hope, two qualities I would love for my children to possess.
Plus, in
Jasper Fforde's Detective
Jack Spratt Investigates books,
Jack has a daughter named
Pandora. She's currently dating
Prometheus. :D
So overall, I absolutely love the name. I think it would be gorgeous for a child.
Pandora Lucille Demars came to mind first, though I have to point out that
Pandora Hope is the only combo I can stand the name
Hope in--even if it's cheesey, ha. Since I don't know what names you like, I can't really suggest other ideas for you.

"Phineas. That's an interesting name."
"Yeah. It's Latin for 'kick me'."
