I like it because of how much I adore Maureen O'Hara. :) Not one I would use, though.

:-DMaureen is my niece's name. She's 21 years old. Her mother said she wanted to name her after the most beautiful woman she could think of and Maureen O'Hara came to mind. Great choice on both counts, I say. :-) She goes by the nn Mo which is super cute. I'm the annoying aunt who calls her by the more formal Maureen because it is everything you describe. Plus, I love how rare it is for her age group. She's from a mid-sized town and says that there are little Maureens popping up in the parish. I bet they heard about my niece and liekd the name. Or so I'd like to think. I don't think the name is catching on anywhere else, more's the pity. Maureen Elizabeth is her name, although Maureen Glynis is my stock combo. From your list I love / adore:Maureen Adelaide / Adela / Adele / Alice
Maureen Aglaia (I love how strong the "g" sound in Aglaia is with earthy Maureen)
Maureen Augusta
Maureen Blythe
Maureen Camellia (wow)
Maureen Cecily
Maureen Cressida
Maureen Cybele
Maureen Elspeth / Eliza
Maureen Estella

My late-great-aunt was named Maureen, and I've never been fond of the name. It just seems so... colourless. I do kind of like Maureen Juliet, though.
