I like the name alot, but personally, I would use it for a girl. The lyn just sounds feminine to me.

I agree with Sarahjeanne on the -lyn part. The name doesn't sound feminine to the ear, but the spelling with the "y" may cause some people who just see it to assume it's female. "Jalen" might have avoided this, but too late now...

yes I think it's lovely, but i also found it slightly feminine.
My son is called Cyriak. i heard it once (when I was 16)and never forgot it - so i used it when i gave birth at 27. Someone asked me if it was a tribute to Jacques Chirac the French President (as I was born in France and Cyriak is a French name): I never thought of that! What a terrible thing for my parents who are quite lefty...
