It was pronounced mal-ah-kee? That sounds so weird... and it sounds like an Irish surname lol
Even with the y-ending, I'd have still said mal-ah-kye, like you.
eta: I just read Llewella's post. I didn't even know it was an entirely different name, I just assumed it was an alternative spelling of Malachai. Well, being of Irish origin, it now makes sense it's said with a kee and not a kye. Hm. Still not a real big fan of it though. I just don't like "mal" names.
