[Opinions] Eppie
I have just finished reading Silas Marner and have the name Eppie on my mind. In the book it is short for Hepzibah which has also taken my fancy but I think it is maybe a bit out there with my usual favorite girls names (Penelope, Vivienne, Ruby, Temperance, Elisabeth etc). I know I don't really have any rhyme or reason or 'style' to my names but even for me, Hepzibah is a bit crazy.I was thinking perhaps Josepha nn Eppie could work? I'm not completely sold on it yet though.WDYT of Eppie?WDYT of Josepha and Hepzibah?Any other suggestions of full names for Eppie?

Eppie doesn't do much for me, but it's okay as a nickname. I think it works as a nickname for Josepha. It could also work for Penelope. My favorite full name for Eppie possibility that I can think of is Eponine "Eppie."I like the rarity of Hepzibah, but I'm not too keen on the actual sound of it.

Josepha nn Eppie could totally work. I think of Eppie as a nn for Euphemia, although I prefer Effie or Femie. But it is really cute and nostalgic.

Eppie was the nickname of Brian Epstein, the Beatles' first manager and a major component of their success. I believe John Lennon was the fist to call him that, actually. That's the first thing I think of when I hear it, and it's an association I will never break. Still, it's kind of cute. I like Josepha alright, a lot more than Josephine. Hepzibah is just too out there, though. Perhaps Eponine, Epona, Euphemia, Euphrasia, Euphrosyne, Eupraxia?

Epi pen?
Epping?
Giuseppe?Eh... not my taste, really. It is unusual, though.

Cute nn.I think Hephzibah would be awesome with your other faves *shrugs* a little unexpected but oh-so-cool. I just love the meaning of Hephzibah.I dislike Joseph, so I dislike Josepha even more. I know it has Ep in it, but it has a ph sound not the strong P as in Eppie. So IMO Eppie doesn't work.EP initials, perhaps? Or EPI, EPE even?I can't think of any thing else. Hopefully someone else can be more help there.

I used it as a short form of September once.
I like it. It's adorable.

Oh I like Eppie, it's very cute. Josepha is NMS, I don't see it as it's own name just Joseph with an "a" tagged on. Hepzibah is a bit out there, but I love it anyway. It just seems full of life. My first thought was it could be a NN for Eponine. Elspet could work too.

Eppie is cute. I've used Eppie on a character before; it was short for Epona.
Josepha could work for Eppie. I think it's pretty cool. I'm not really a fan of Hepzibah though-- to long and biblical for me!

I'm so torn. It's adorable, but all I hear is Epi-pen. Dang. Josepha nn Effie makes more sense to me and loses the epi-pen association. I don't really like Josepha much. I prefer Josephine or Josefina. Hepzibah is too out there for me. Still not sure whether I endorse Eppie, but what about
Epiphany
Giuseppa
Giuseppina
Persephone
Sepphora
September
Stephanie
Like any?

I like it but it made me think of Epipens straight off. I love Hepzibah though. I like Josepha but it makes me think of an old nun, don't know why.My only suggestion is Euphemia. I like Effie.

Hepzibah is funky and cool. I did a thread on Hester the other day and described it (Hester) as hipster. I knew I was pushing the envelope with that one and didn't dare add that I put Hepzibah in the same zippy, cool, funky, hipster category. I know I'm the only one on the planet. But my eyes popped when I read your post.So Hepzibah, nn Eppie, makes perfect sense to me. It's only unusable until someone uses it. And then you slap your forehead that you weren't the one to have the guts to use it first. (You being general, not you in particular.)Josepha is another favorite. I'd love to meet a Josepha, nn Eppie. :-)Others:Euphemia / Eufemia
Persephone
Stephanie / Estefania
Epiphany / Epifania (sp?)
Euphrosyne ("yoo-FROZ-i-nee")
Eupraxia
Penelope (why not? nns don't have to be scientifically drawn from teh sound of the formal name)Or anything where the initials are E.P.Gots to run. Good luck!

It's cute and feminine and I love the sound, but it makes me think of an Epi pen.

Eppie sounds cute. Josepha is alright, but Hephzibah sounds very pompous.Other full names for Eppie:Epifania - This is a Spanish name meaning "epiphany". It's not in the database, but the masculine form, Epifanio, is.
Eponine
Giuseppina
