This has been one of my favorites for some time but I've been sort of putting it out of mind because I was afraid people would pronounce it like Vera. But it seems like most everyone pronounced it right even if they weren't familiar :)Bera is a Teutonic name meaning "bear"

Vera and Bera are pronounced the same in their original languages (Vera should be VEH-rah).

Yeah I actually prefer the "VEH-rah" pronunciation (though I love "VEER-ah" too) but imagine most everyone in my area would assume the "VEER-ah" pronunciation instead. I just don't want Bera to become "BEER-ah"
