Maud reminds me of that silver-haired, manly woman that is on Golden Girls. It is quite a different name. Not sure if I personally like it.
Picking a good name to go with it depends a lot on the last name. What would the last name be?
Maud would make a good middle name, if the first and last names are multi-syllablic.

Lol, yes the name Maude has that unfortunate attachment to the sitcom and its character of the same name. Though I liked the television show, it's too bad that Maude picked up that 'sarcastic, old lday' stigma because it really is a charming name. But things like that happen. :)
The last name would be four-syllables and I really haven't decided on a first name yet, but with Maud as a MN, the first first name would most likely contain multi-syllables.
