[Opinions] Crispin

It's interesting. I like the sound of it. I also like the feminine form Crispina, which is in the submitted name database (I submitted it).
I love it. I know some people use the nickname Crisps and I think Pin could be a very cool nickname.
I know two Crispins, and they're both usually called Cris - although one sometimes gets Crispy. I like it, and much prefer it to Christian.
I think a lot of people would call him Cris.
I personally dislike the name Crispin because its just so close to "crisp" or "crisps" (which is what we call potato chips).

I love it. :) It reminds me of the book "Crispin and the Cross of Lead" (I think that's what it was called) because that's where I heard it first.
I don't think it will get confused with Christian too often. He may end up as just another Chris, but that's fine. If he does, it's probably by choice (seeing as if he really wanted to be "Crispin", he would tell people so) and there's always the possibility that he'll get sick of being "Chris B." or whatever and be glad that he has a neat, uncommon name to fall back on.

I really, really like it.
I used to think it seemed kind of dark and awkward, and didn't really find the attraction of it until I saw it on a real guy. He was middle-aged, hippie-ish, and worked at Panera Bread. So I can now see it as a really earthy sort of name, and it's much more pleasant.
I do think it might get misheard as Christian, but that's not a big concern. My name is Shannon and I've always got the occasional What? Shawna? Sharon? Janet? I think it can happen with lots of names.
I don't think Crispin will be a Chris unless you call him that. I've found that people will call your child whatever you do, or will ask if you use a nickname if you give them a longer name. I can see Crispin getting called Crispy in teasing though (whether negative or endearing teasing).

I agree, he will be called "Crispy Crispin"
I can't get past the "crispie" thing with Crispin. But I've noticed that it is popular with many so I say go for it.
I really like it but I wouldn't use it because it sounds like a cereal :(
I don't think it would get confused with Christian, and Chris/Cris could be a nickname depending on if you would use it or not.

I like that:
- I've never met anyone named Crispin
- It's easy to read/pronounce
- It's easy to spell
- It has a common nickname option
Yup, mostly good. If only I good shake the feeling that it's a breakfast cereal. I think, there was an Olympic snowboarder with this name, which increases the coolness factor.
I don't think the closeness with Christian is a big deal. Easily corrected if people hear it wrong.
I like that he would have the option of being "just another Chris" but I think Crisp or Spin would be cool nicknames too.
ETA: Ooo, or how about Kip/Cip?

Crispin makes me think of Rice Crispies, so I don't really like it that much.
Honestly, I think it sounds like the name of a breakfast cereal. Not my favorite name on the planet.
I like it. It could get confused with Christian, but I think most people would say it correctly. :)
