Sounds like a fishy-name to me. Too close to sturgeon and surgeon.

I've never heard of it and it looks very unattractive to me. It looks a bit like "surgeon".

I would definitely NOT use this. I think it's terrible.

Spergeon is mostly likely a variant spelling of Spurgeon, which is a surname. Many, many people have surnames as their first name; the name still has the same origin.

I don't know anymore named Spergeon or Spurgeon. I would only use it if I wanted to name a son after Charles Spurgeon, and even then it would only be a middle name.

I would look into the spelling Spurgeon -- I bet Spergeon is a variation on that. I also doubt that it has a different origin as a first name -- it is probably a surname used as a first name. I would definitely not use it.

How do pronounce it? When I first saw it I thought it said surgeon. My brain works in funny ways. I don't think I would ever use it. I don't like the look of it.

Maybe it's a namesake? Wikipedia lists two American cities. How old is he?
