I've finally gotten over my "Milan is a city in Italy, not a man's name" prejudice. It's so handsome as a boy's name.
Bozena is intriguing. I haven't gone to the links yet, but I'm guessing it's from the same root word as Bogdan, i.e., Bog / God. I'm also guessing it's pronounced "BO-zheh-nah." Is that correct? I like it. :-)
"Mehmed / Mehmet the Great" came up once and it stuck in my head. It reminds me of the name Cathal (silent "t"). Ending a syllable with an "h" sound is so unexpected. Groovy.

Božena does have the same root as Bogdan (one of changes in Croatian is that g+e=ž, so Bog+ena=Božena) and your pronunciation is correct:-)
