It's a strong, respectable, and sturdy but not too burly name. I like it. Vin and Vinny both appeal to me as possible nicknames for it.
I think I'd go with Vincent Alexander.
Vincent Paul is a nice name, but I automatically think of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, which isn't a bad thing by any means. Vincent Paul just sounds very familiar to me for that reason.
