[Opinions] Ernesto?
WDYT? (Too Che Guevara?) I'm really really loving this today.

I don't like it. I find that names which are english names with an O on the end sound very Spanish or Italian and I'm not a fan of very foreign sounding names on English/American kids unless they have the right heritage.
I don't really like Ernest anyway, but Ernie is kinda cute.

It is rather Che, but none the worse for that! I like the name and the sound; think I prefer the German Ernst though.
Ernest is a family name on my DH's side, but we chose to avoid it. Now my son is playing Jack in The Importance of Being Earnest. Some things just can't be avoided.

It's a family name in my family and Dh's middle name. I think it's very handsome. :)
Ernesto isn't too Che Guevara. Che itself is "too Guevara". (I hate Che Guevara with a flaming passion.)
This is a very common name in many Spanish-speaking countries, so I doubt that people would associate it with him.

Aw. When we were dating my (now) dh mentioned that if he had a dog he'd name it Ernesto. When I knew the Guevara reference my stock went up sharply. So I have very fond associations with the name Ernesto.
I met an Ernesto once. I didn't think of Guevara, even though the dog naming thing had already happened. I just thought this Ernesto guy had a nice name. :-D
I've always loved Ernestina, which is / was Che's dd's name.

I do like it, but it's a little too dashing. Ernest is one of my favourite names: sturdy, sweet, good natured. Ernesto is fiery. I would say not too Che Guevara but it's definitely a strong association.
