I don't mind Aaron. I like that it's common enough that people know the name, but I feel like it's not too prone to trends. I know as many Aarons over 35 as under 35. I wouldn't use it, but it's too ordinary for me. In general I don't oppose ordinary, it's just not for me.Why did it look awkward? The two As? Or the uppercase?

I think it being uppercase and the caps. Plus, at the centre I'm used to seeing very kreative spellings and trendy names. The moms are usually just teens and all are low class financially. A more common name therefore looked awkward.
