I have been thinking about changing my name, to varying degrees of certainty, for the last ten years. Now that I'm going into my senior year of college, the thoughts are much more serious. The only problem, really, is the name itself. About five years ago I got hooked to the name
Bella. I filled '
Bella' in on fake tests, I introduced myself as '
Bella' to people I knew I'd never see again. I've never been able to find another name since that I set into so easily, despite the fact that it goes against all my naming tastes. Mostly, I can't get over the arrogance of naming myself, literally, 'beautiful' - especially when I'm not exactly a supermodel. I would probably change my name to
Isabella, and go almost exclusively by
Bella, but I'm not sure that makes it any better.
So, my question for you guys is a two-parter:
1) Do you think it's unforgivably arrogant to change your own name to
Bella?
2) If I like
Isabella nn
Bella, what other names might make the cut?
