Cathy (Catherine) is my mom's name, she's over 60. I think it'll be at least another 20+ years before Cathy as a nn comes back around. I do prefer using a "C" over using a "K" because it has a much softer look. I've never liked the nickname Katie, it's overused for my generation (Gen X/Y), and it's too cutesy. Cate is nice. My daughter's name is Grace Catherine, which I chose because it was soft and classic.
