I didn't know Mormons had distinctive surnames! Mennonites (and Amish) do too - mostly Russian/German/Dutch ones. Maybe I'll make a Mennonite CAF.

Yep, we do! It's because we had such a small community populating a distinct region. For example, the Smoots started with a pioneer named Abraham Owen Smoot, and so there are a lot of Mormon Smoots descended from him. Names that end in -sen (Neilsen, Jensen, etc) are really popular too. Smith isn't really that "Mormon," it's just a tip of the hat to Joseph Smith (the first modern-day prophet). Monson, Uchtdorf, and Hinckley are recent prophets and apostles. I'm not sure where Tolman came from, but if you search it on facebook 3/4 of them are Mormon.
