Oh, somehow I missed this little post. I like Hansel. I like Hans, and I like Ansel, so yeah, Hansel is good too. It's a nice, handsome name. It's friendly and warm and farmerish. My favorite kind of name. :)

Hansel & Gretel. I don't think it can work as a firstname because of the story.

Not sure it can ever be removed from it's fairy tale history. Sorry.
