Noble is a British or French surname not a German one.
So if your ancestors were Germans the surname could have been:
NOBEL, NOBER,NOBBE,NOEBEL...
NOBEL and NOBER from the first name NABOR?
NOBER from the first name NORBERT
NOEBEL, from a nickname that means "fog".
So the meaning does not correspond.
