Pronounced ah-GAH-tah (Agata for the link) - WDYTO it? I've taken a liking to this name.

I've met once recently and I'm quite liking it as well. Like the sound of agate (the stone) in it as it's a fave stone.

I like it. It reminds me more of the word "agate" than the name "Agatha", which I like. It would be cute with the nn Aggie but wouldn't necessarily need a nn.

Agata is a great name for a girl. The Greek names are beautiful.

It doesn't do much for me, I'm afraid. I don't like the second syllable. I like plain, old Agatha best, but my favorite non-English variation is the French Agathe (a-GAT).

I don't really like that pronunciation but I love Ágata and Àgata with the stress on the first syllable (and for Àgata, that's an open A at the start).

I've never been able to get behind it much. I love Agatha, so Agata sounds foreign. Also it makes me think of "agate," so it's a bit cold and stony, which isn't something I like in a name.
