This is an epic name. Of course, I only know of it from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Which is cool enough for me. I'd use it in real life. Why not. Why NOT I say. I know people named Kyzyl, Jzero, Terrakian, and Indi. Why not Quartermain?

I've been thinking of it since a friend of mine said she's planning on using it if her baby is a boy (my friend who has all epicly named boys). I love The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, good association.
Yes, old-world and vampire-killer-y indeed. But when I tried to make combos I couldn't think of anything like that, and was going more for super-adventurer's sidekick names. I ended up best liking tweedy things, it felt all steampunk action-adventure. But! Quatermain Ward! How did I skip over that?! I love it!
