It was never megapopular where I live, and I've always enjoyed it as one of the livelier botanicals.

It's much less popular than it used to be, so a Heather born these days probably wouldn't have to worry about sharing her name with classmates. The only thing is that she would have a name that is popular among her parents' generation, so she might not like having a "mom" name. Despite that, I like the sound of Heather, and I like the fact that it's a nature name. I'd like to meet a little Heather.

I love the plant imagery and thinking of a foggy heather-full moor, and I like the sound of it and especially the way ythe sound goes with the imagery. But I can't get over it's 80's-trendiness. Maybe I'll like it eventually.
(also, I have an American accent but I think Heather sounds better in an English accent).

I think Heather is gorgeous when I think of it in a "botanical name" context. I don't like at all when I think of it in terms of being '70s name.

I think it's okay. I thought I hit my saturation point on Heathers when I was a kid (there were soooo many of them around!), but there's a 5-year-old Heather in my son's kindy class, and I'm surprised how cute I find it on a little girl. It seems fresh again, almost.

It's ok, but boring... but might be a nice change from Lily, Sophia, Emma and Emily...

Heather was trendy for a long time, but I think has been "un-trendy" long enough that it is ready for a come back. It has never really been a favorite of mine for some reason. I am not sure why. All of the Heathers I know are sweet and smart. Heather is also one of my favorite flowers/plants.

Not too bad, but way too common! And I think of rather older women when I hear this name (like Heather Mills). But maybe as a middle name!?

Heather is my cousin's name. I always thought it was pretty but she never liked it. It's soft and feminine without being frilly.
