Help[Opinions] Grimm
I know I shouldn't like this name, I'm sure most of you are cringing at the thought of it being used on a baby boy but I can't help it. I really like it. I'm not going to list my reasons for liking it though I definitely feel like I need to justify my feelings. If I do end up using it one day, it'll probably be a MN however I'm not opposed to using it as a FN.
WDYT of Grimm? Would it really be so horrendous to use it? Combo ideas? Am I completely insane for liking it so much?

I like Grim (this spelling). It a legit old Norse name used in Sweden (don't know about other Scandinavian countries). http://www.behindthename.com/submit/name/grim
Personally, I quite like it and I would be happy to meet a little boy named Grim. I guess you want to use Grimm to honour the Grimm brothers but I just wanted you to know that it is a name that is both legit and used in some parts in the world. :)

I like it. I love those fairy tales. I see the creepy kind of appeal it has. Don't feel like you need to justify yourself.
I think it could be a neat middle name. It's an unexpected one-syllable idea, which makes it versatile.

If you live in a conservative area, it would probably be more difficult to be named Grimm than if you live in an area where people are more open to unusual and eccentric names. In general, I think it would be better as a middle name. Even if it works in a small, open-minded town, there's the chance that Grimm will want to move elsewhere when he grows up. People might see it on job applications and pass him up because the name reminds them of the word "grim" or of Grimms' fairy tales, which might have freaked them out when they were kids. If it's just his middle name, they'd probably be more inclined to just think that maybe it was a family name or perhaps his mother's maiden name and not think much of it.
With that said, I think it's a cool name. I think of the Brothers Grimm, but that association doesn't bother me. My taste seems to be different from most other people's, though.

Sorry but I'm going to be completely honest - I think it's awful.
Think about the associations with it:
- Grim Reaper
- "grim" the word meaning sinister or repellant
- The Grim the death omen from Harry Potter
(I know it's spelled slightly differently but it sounds the same and would definitely have the same associations as Grim.)

Yes, yes, yes, it would be really horrendous to use it. I guess I don't really care too much about MNs so wouldn't be so horrified to see it in the middle spot but I still feel it seems very try-hard and pretentious. No offense intended, that's just the very strong vibe I get from it.

Considering my first thought when I saw it was, "Are you f*cking serious?" I'd say stay far away from ever actually using it.

I guess it could be use as a middle name. It sounds like a name. Unfortunately it has a negative meaning. I think diarrhea sounds like it would make a nice name, but it has a very bad meaning. Certain words would make nice names, but have meanings wouldn't work as names. Then again, Pippa means vagina in Swedish. People still use it. Grimm is a lot better then vagina. At least that's how I look at it. A while back I thought Grimm could work as a name. I guess I am as insane as you are.

Was this inspired by the commercials for that new show? Because I've actually been feeling kind of the same lately.
I do think that it would be completely horrendous in the first name spot. My personal feelings tend to be that just about anything goes in the middle, so I'm completely fine with Grimm in the middle. I think that Bram would be a great alternative for Grimm if you felt really inclined to use it in the first name spot.
