Ally McBeal. I never saw the show, but that's the only place I've seen that spelling of
Ally. And I think I'd probably guess at '
Allyson' if asked for a full name for it.
In the
UK Alison is the usual spelling (
Allison, to me, is a last name). I like it; it's simple, pretty and not common on babies atm. I know heaps of Alisons, ranging from 20 to 50-ish,and the ones who shorten it all go by
Ali- it's pretty common here. I also know an
Alistair who is
Ali, and an
Alexandra who is Aly.
