I don't think the association would be so known or assumed. The character Emmett is not a main character like Jacob or Bella or Edward. I haven't seen the movies or read the books so until you mentioned the Emmett Twilight connection I didn't even know about it. Naming a child Cullen right now everyone would assume a Twilight association but most other Twilight character names are common enough that I don't think people would assume an association. Also I think that soon enough Twilight won't be such a big deal.

I think Emmett is a great name. Emmett and Killian go great together. I like both Emmett Troyer and Emmett Trayer. They both sound great but I slightly prefer Emmett Trayer. :)

Also I did a google search and only one page on the front mentioned Emmett Cullen and only one page mentioned Emmett Till. Never heard of either of them until you and Kelsey mentioned them.

I love lots of names from Twilight (Alice and Jasper are two of my top names but I wouldn't put them together obviously) - you might have to deal with some people asking about Twilight, but I don't think that association will be around forever and if you love the name I'd just use it anyway.

I think both middle names sound a bit funny because the T at the end of Emmett sticks together with it. I would choose Trayer over Troyer because the latter reminds me of Verne Troyer. To be honest I don't like either name much but at least it's honouring.

Otherwise, how about Elliott? It's a lot like Emmett but without the Twilight thing, if it bothers you.

I like Emmett and always have, and despite having read Twilight I didn't make that association until you said it. I am not a fan of Killian because of the Kill part.

I like the sibset. Emmett doesn't actually remind me of the Twilight one-- it sounds earthy and outdoorsy to me primarily.

I think Emmett and Killian are great for brothers! Please don't be put off by a minor character in Twilight. Emmett has a long history pre-Stephanie Meyer and doesn't deserved to be shelved because of her crappy books. I really believe (and I don't think it's just wishful thinking) that the Twilight books don't have what it takes to be classics; they're too poorly written, too easily dated, and in a decade or so, people will be looking back wondering why they were so obsessed with them--like Swatch watches, Cabbage Patch Kids, or AOL.

I'm not crazy about T- middle names with the -t ending Emmett, but honoring trumps that sort of thing. I prefer Emmett Trayer slightly.

They sound really good together! and I would go with Emmett Trayer. you can definitely get around the Twilight thing too. He is a minor character so most people won't think of that first.
