Does nothing for me, I'm afraid. That -y- and the -a ending makes me want to hear it as "liner" - paper for putting in drawers, or a plastic bag for one's WPB. Also, there'd be a lifetime of confusion with Linda.
I was at school with - of all things - a Lynné, who was always known as Lynn; one day we all had to be told that something very bad had happened to her, and the teacher who told us (and had never taught her) used her "real" name and confused us all entirely. Only when she saw our baffled faces and added the ln did we have a clue who she was talking about.
