[Opinions] Re: Rosealia (this spelling?)
in reply to a message by erb816
I don't like the spelling. I think it's the "sea" part which doesn't look right - makes it look more like two names squished together Rose and Alia, rather than one name Rosalia. And I kind of want to say rose-EE-AHL-ee-uh
With any spelling, Rosalia sounds kind of dated and also very hispanic to me. I prefer Rosalie.

Agree. Rosealia looks good but makes me want to say rose-ee-ahl-ee-uh, and it looks more like Rose Alia than Rosalia. I like Rosalia a lot more than Rosalie though-- to me Rosalie sounds dated and Rosalia sounds a bit magical (but I've never met a Rosalia and also have never lived somewhere with a lot of Spanish-speakers, so maybe it is dated and I just never noticed).
Seconded
^ Just all of that.
Though I must admit I do like Rosalia, Rosalie just seems nicer to me, anyway.
And the sea/seal bit in the middle really bugs me and looks rather odd.
I'd go "rose-EE-AHL-ee-uh" too, of "rose-SEA...blah blah blah" or "rose-SEAL...blah blah" but... yeah... it just doesn't look right. That sea/seal just jumps right out and is odd.
