Ishiyah is of Semitic origin. For the most part it is considered of Hebrew origin specifically. In Strong's Ishiyah (Yishiyah) means "Yah (the Lord) will lend". In the book
Hosea of the
King James bible and other versions, "Ishi" is defined as "my husband", a term the creator will be referred to vs. Baali (my lord). Thus, "Ishi" meaning "my husband" and "Yah" being a shortened version of the name for the Lord, "
Yahweh" leads to the "
Yahweh my husband" rough translation/interpretation. Ishi is also related to Hebrew words that refer to salvation, saviour, etc (ie.
Hosea,
Jesse, Yahsha, Yahshua, (translated to
Jesus), etc. Written in actual Hebrew though the characters are different depending on which "Ishi" you mean.
