[Facts] Re: Some Spanish Name Pronunciations
in reply to a message by Andrew
Abigail (in Spanish it´s not very used Abegail): ah-bee-GAIL;
Adelaida: ah-deh-LAI-dah;
Espiridion: (almost unknown for us) es-pee-REE-dion.
Anyway, you should ask Lumia. She might have more complete explanations. Good luck.

I don't know Abegail as Spanish form (nor my Spanish name books), but if Abegail is a legit Spanish form (I doubt that), it is pronounced ah-beh-GAIL [abi'gajl].
And for Espiridion, the Spanish form is Espiridión (ehs-pee-ree-DEEOHN, [espiri'djon]). The spelling Espiridion is not correct (perhaps the mistake is originated by influence of English pronunciation, which has translated the stress, but it is only a conjecture, because for me the pronunciation [espi'ridjon] is completely unknown).
(I don't know how to represent some sounds with figurated spelling)
