I knew an Elliette!

She was probably 12ish.. It was pronounced sort of like Elliott (that is what I thought her name was until I saw it written down) but I kind of like it. I can't remember what her middle name was, although I'm pretty sure I asked her...

I think it's more of an elaboration of Ellie / Ellen than a feminine relation to Elliott (not sure if this was said). I think Joshua and Jacob are kind of plain with Elliette as a sister. Also, I actually have cousins named Joshua, Jacob, and Jerrica (a feminine variant of Jerry, I think).

No, I just don't think that Elliot can really have a feminine offshoot. Elliot just sounds too masculine. Elliette sounds too twee and it sounds more like a "kree8tive" spelling than anything else, something hastily decided on because it looked and sounded nice rather than a name carefully picked for its significance.

It seems silly to me, too frilly and it sounds made up. With very common "normal" names like Joshua and Jacob, I think Elliette sticks out like a sore thumb.

I didn't think of it being similar to Elliot, but I suppose it is. I much prefer Elliot over Elliette, although I'd only use Elliot for a boy.

An old classmate of mine recently named her daughter Elliott. I've never heard of Elliette, but it's a bit too precious and twee for me. And I suspect that they might just be pronouncing it as Elliott.

I think it looks like they were trying to hard to feminize a rather non-fem sounding name... not a fan. Haven't heard the name before and wouldn't really want to.
Joshua's overused, but nice. Jacob sounds good, but I don't like its meaning and wouldn't use it and I think Elliette sounds a bit tacky. Sorry.

I sort of like it. I think I'd prefer Elliotte though- closer to Elliott and has the same ending as Charlotte, etc. (I wouldn't like it pronouned like Elliott though-- it would have to be el-ee-OT. Maybe Elliette is more feasible for English speakers.)

I don't like it with Joshua and Jacob-- it isn't a horrible sibset, but Elliette is very unusual and girly and quirky. Joshua and Jacob are more sporty and common.

I was thinking it was too close to Elliott. I don't really like the look of it either. I like the sibset Joshua, Jacob and Elliot, but only if Elliott is a boy.

I don't mean to be rude, but I really hate this name -- I find it contrived and insubstantial. Also, I think it clashes with Joshua and Jacob.

I've never heard it before. Weird, I would've thought I'd hate it, but it's not bad at all. I'd pronounce it with the emphasis like Juliette. And Ellie is a cute possible nickname.

I really dislike it when people name their daughters Elliott, but I can live with Elliette when it's pronounced ell-ee-ET. I actually find it pretty. ELL-ee-et sounds too much like Elliott, though.
