[Opinions] Arrietty...
Arrietty is a GP of mine, I love the sound/look of the name & I'm a big fan of 'The Borrowers'. I'm trying to decide if it's actually usable as a fn or mn.What are your opinions, any combo ideas?

It looks kind of odd to me. It looks like a blend of arietta and hävitetty ("destroyed" in Finnish), but you'd probably be able to pull it off.Arrietty Petrea
Arrietty Isolde
Arrietty Sigrid

I think it's strongly tied to The Borrowers and the new "Arrietty" movie, and it's ultra-frilly with the 4-syllables and double Rs and Ts, so I think it's best confined to the middle. I would pair it with something fairly short &/or simple.(off your PNL)

Like everyone else said, I can see it as usable without the extra r. There was a French actress/singer known as Arletty, which is not that far off.And it's definitely better than Eggletina.;)

Sounds kind of made up and less than appealing... I wouldn't use it...

the movieI think the movie Arrietty will make it more familiar to a new generation but it still sounds made up to me. Its not bad though but its a little too cutesy imo, I think Ariette is a better variation of the name with the nn Arietty

Aw I love Arietty! I think it's totally usable - it's close enough to other "legit" names as to not sound totally out there.I'd probably pair it with something short and more "common".... (Actually, if I were to use it for real I'd probably consider NOT using a MN - I think it strong and unique enough to stand on it's own. I love a lot of names so I usually want to throw in as many as a can for the middle spot but with Arietty I'm really loving the idea of it as a standalone)Arietty June
Arietty Laurel
Arietty Paige

I like it better with just one r: Arietty. It's more usable then I think. It's not really my thing, but I did enjoy The Borrowers. :)

The Borrowers was the first place I heard this name. While it's not my type of name, it struck me as being very pretty and unique sounding. I quite like it. =3

dittoand while I wouldn't use it myself (though maybe for a pet) I do think it is usable.

Two sets of double letters is too many. Would you want to sign a name that had two double letters? (edit: I did not mean that to sound snotty, I'm trying to be cute) Drop an R please, and I can handle it. Arietty. Yeah, usable. Nms but I could call someone it. It's got one too many syllables for me to get into it though.
It makes me think of a dialect nickname for Harriet. I'm not familiar with The Borrowers.
