[Opinions] Sherilyn
Sherilyn has been on my mind lately. I think it's kind of cute. I prefer it over Cherilyn. What do you think? Have you met one? Dated?

I find Sherilyn / Cherilyn and Cheryl dated and not quite ripe for revival, but at least, a little girl named Sherilyn / Cherilyn wouldn't be one of several classmates with the same name in her classes at school. It's not a favorite name of mine, but I find it acceptable and decent. I prefer Sherilyn to Cherilyn.I know a Sherrilyn. She is in her 40s.

It's ok. I knew a Cheralyn... I think an old camp friend's sister spells it Sherilyn though...

I believe the singer Cher's full name is Cherilyn. So it is a little dated and a woman has to have a very strong personality to wear it.Shaelyn is similar, but much younger and softer.

I'm not a fan, so much, of the -lyn ending with this particular name. I much prefer Cheryl over the "Sh" spelling. I would perhaps have thought it a bit dated, there's a popular young ballroom dancer by the name, Cheryl, and she wears it well.Edited to clarify.

I don't like it - tacky and dated, plus it reminds me instantly of a Cheryl Marilyn at school who was a sneak and a snob and definitely did not suit the name!

I've only met one, and she's in her late 30s. Her name is too fancy for her - she's a very down-to-earth person. Like Marilyn and to a lesser extent Carolyn, I think you need to be able to carry it off, but most people just look haunted, not cute at all.

Just say no. I think it's awful. It's both dated and seems trendy due to the -lyn.

Very dated. Sherilyn Fenn (I think it's a stage name) is 47 and the name seems even a little older than she is, to me. But I think her beauty sure shines up the image of Sherilyn. Even though the roles she plays usually put me off.I've met Sherrys and Cheryls and a Jerilyn, but never a Sherilyn or Cherilyn. I put Cherilyn on my long list some months ago - I like the sound of it. I've liked Sherry for a longer time and was thinking about what it could be short for. I'm not a huge fan of -lyn combo names though. They really are pretty dated. I slightly prefer it spelled Cherilyn, but (probably entirely thanks to Ms Fenn's facial features) I like Sherilyn too.
