I believe Audie / Auddie was used as a nn for Edward.
I've only ever heard the name on a boy, as in the military hero / actor Audie Murphy. But I suppose it could just as easily work for Auden, Edwin, Edgar, Edmund, Abelard, Baldwin / Baudouin, Otto, Archibald, Roderick, Broderick (= brother), Isambard, Adriano, Ardal, Harold, Cadwalader, or Arcady / Arkady.

I'd never heard or thought of Audie as a nickname for Edward before, but that's absolutely adorable.
Agreed! I like that a lot. More than Eddie or Teddy, actually.
