Columbia for a girl, certainly, if you don't mind the Rocky Horror associations. Just don't name her sister, puppy or teddy bear Magenta.
Columba was a very tough male saint. The Scottish name Malcolm is a tribute to him.
Perhaps you might consider Columbine as an option.
