[Opinions] Delphinus
Is Delphinus pronounced del-FY-niss or del-FEE-niss? I've been finding both when I google it.And what do you think of it as a middle name? My dad and I share a love for astronomy, and my mom's favorite animal has always been a dolphin, so I thought it would be a nice middle name. Thanks for your help!

del-FEE-niss would be closer to what was probably the Latin ... del-FY-niss gives the impression of an English version.I was at school with a Delphine (del-FEEN) so you could use it for a girl, too!

I think both are possible in the English-speaking world. In an interchangeable kind of way, I think. In my country, however, it would be pronounced as del-FEE-niss only. The 'y'-pronunciation is something typically English. In my country, an 'i' either gets pronounced as the 'i' in the English word 'hit', or as an 'ee' like in names such as Nadine.
