[Facts] The accent of the e in Seamus
by

Hi All, History question. In listings of the name
Seamus
I will see an accent on the e. Why? It is irish and I'm wondering if there is a French connection. Has the accent always been there? Was it added? By who and when. Thanks
Cheers,
Seamus
