Love it. Maximus is a strong and handsome name. It's one of my favorites. :)

I think it's fine. I would frown upon Maximus as a first name, but as an MN, it works.

Maximus just doesn't seem like a name for a real person to me. It's like a wrestler's stage name or something. If you want to call him Max, just name him Max something and be done with it. Why give Robert as the first name if you don't intend to call him that or some nickname for Robert?

Because Robert is a family name that we are passing down. The flow of Maximus Robert seems off to me. Robert and our last name are two syllables long. Maximus fits better in the middle. Max would be a nn not a name we use all the time.

I like it. For the record, I think Maximus Robert is fine, too.

Robert Maximus sounds great. Personally, I dislike it when people call their children by the middle name; I'd rather you just use Maximus as the first name if you want to call him Max.

I typically agree with what you say. My reasoning for this is that Maximus is three syllables long and the FN and LN are two. It just seems to flow better this way. Robert is non-negotiable. I would prefer it to be in the mn slot but it just doesn't sound right saying Maximus Robert.

You are right that it would flow better the other way in terms of first name and middle name. I guess it's about what is more important to you. I would sacrifice the flow of the combo in order to have the name I intend to use as the first name. Any chance it could just be Rob? Maximus Rob Last-name would be okay for flow.
