I absolutely adore Eamon! It's probably my favorite Gaelic name. It's quite handsome without being too soft or two rugged sounding. I also love that it's related to Edmund, my favorite boys name.
Eamon isn't at all popular in the USA but it's fairly easy to spell so I think it would work quite well. It's probably a bit more used in the UK and Ireland (not sure about Australia) but I think even there it's not as popular as many trendier names.
