I like Damian a lot, as well as Damien. I think it's usable. Sure, he may get some Omen references, but there are a lot of names with associations and it'll just be something annoying he'll have to deal with from time to time. Not really a big deal.

I don't see a problem with it. I don't get how some horror movie ruins a name. I mean, we still use Frederick despite it being the name of Frederick "Freddy" Krueger. It's not like the kid in the movie was a real person. As for the connection to Satan: I've read my Bible plenty of times, and the name Damian is not mentioned at all.

He's ... 27? 28? I know he's still in his twenties! He was actually named after the saint - my MIL actually wanted to use Cosmas (twin of Damian) but decided to go with the better known Damian. I don't think he's had too much trouble with it, however he's got a great sense of humor and probably went along with the jokes.

Elizabeth Hurley also has a son Damian and I think it's climbing the charts. I'd probably like it if I didn't connect it so closely to my brother-in-law.

I knew a Damian when I was a kid (his mom and my mom were friends). His mom had loved the name (obviously), but my mom often told me that all she could think about when she said his name was the kid from "The Omen." I liked it, though.

I like it a lot. I also like Damien and Damon and I think they all are usable. I do think of the Omen, but that's kinda why I like the name.

I like it. It's elegant and pleasant. The "zOMG! Demonic name!" comments make me roll my eyes a bit.

I like the name Damian. It reminds me of Julian, but without the possible "stuck-up" association some people get from it. It's also more down-to-earth but I could picture it in a fanciful setting too. Note: I haven't actually seen The Omen

It does seem to have some dark associations, like the Omen and also Father Damian in the Exorcist. But I think it is kind of a nice name just the same.

I'm too young and too averse to horror movies to associate Damian with "The Omen."

The saint, however, I am very familiar with. He and his brother Cosmas are the patrons of physicians and protectors of children. I am studying to be a pediatrician so Damian and Cosmas are particular favorites of mine. Obviously I am a religious person so I believe that saints are good role models and namesakes.

I really like Damian, especially the spelling Damien. I am seriously considering using it as a name for a future son. I think it's a strong and handsome name, but not too grandfatherly. I especially like it paired with a more classic name, like Damien Robert or Damien Joseph.

My friend's husband has this name. He's never been teased before with regards to that association that I know.
He's a Christian and wants to become a pastor.

Sure Damian is usable. It's even climbing the charts more or less steadily, and I'm happy about it. I'd hate to think a crappy movie could permenantly taint a name like Damian.

It's handsome, and I like it quite a bit.

I love Damian, and I would absolutely use it in real life. The Omen association doesn't bother me at all.

My brother is Peter Damien, so I'm biased. But I've always loved it. It's dashing and romantic. Plus, I have the Father Damien (should be a saint for dedicating his life to helping lepers and eventually dying from it) -- so it's only positive for me.

Damian is nice as well. I just prefer the Damien spelling because of my brother, who's named after Father Damien.

I've seen it popping up more and more. Like Malachi, I think (fingers crossed) the pop culture references are fading. I only have to wait another whole generation (30 years) for Ursula to make it back into the land of the usable . . . .

Definitely still useable. I think it's even relatively common right now.
