Help[Opinions] Tabitha
For the people with synthesia (sp?), I got this of the FML website:
"Today, I spoke to my hormonal pregnant wife about baby names. I told her I liked the name "Tabitha", and she went into a full rage about how all letters have textures, colours and emotions and how T is an evil letter. Apparently it's orange, plastic, and a needle trying to stab her eyes out. FML"
Does anyone feel the same? I rather like Tabitha, but then again, I don't see plastic ornage stabby needle..

I have synesthesia, and to me Tabitha is a rich, warm brown. It is very earthy and I like it a lot.

In my non-synaesthetic world, Tabitha is grey-and-black stripes with a touch of white round the feet and under the chin. She has lush whiskers and purrs a lot.
I rather like it myself, but probably not enough to use on a human. I prefer Talitha for its quirky history and exclusively human associations.

Prob'ly depends on the person w/ synesthesia. Different people see names differently.

That makes me sad if that lady thinks all T names are like that. My name starts with T!
I definitely don't think of Tabitha that way. To me it's a very gentle, earthy and warm name. If I gave it a color, it would be brown!

That's funny. I think of dark colors and velvet when I hear Tabitha. I've never heard anyone call the letter "T" evil. I don't think I've ever heard any letter referred to as evil, actually.
I like Tabitha as well. It's fairly uncommon, yet still familiar.

I'm a recent convert to the name Tabitha. I used to not like it because the only association I had with it is the teen-aged witch. But then I learned that the Bronte sisters' house keeper was named Tabitha. And that put a whole new light on the name. Once I got used to it a bit I quite liked it. It's a nice change of pace.
I'm glad I don't have the synthesia (or whatever it is) condition. I can control my associations and how I look at a name, by and large. I don't think I could do that with that condition.
