I've always loved Amy. It makes me think of the love triangle of Amy Robsart, Robert Dudley and Elizabeth I of England. Very romantic and historic. I also love how short and friendly it is. Overuse doesn't bother me if I really love a name. Since I associate the name with historic figures it doesn't feel dated to the 1970's at all. I have a house guest coming in a few weeks named Amy. She's my dh's niece. She's in her twenties, maybe closer to thirty. She lives up to my vision of an Amy to a T.
