[Opinions] Re: Elowen?
in reply to a message by Jas
I have ancestors from Cornwall so I was quite pleased to find such a pretty Cornish name. Yes, it is similar to LOTR names, which is fine with me, but I think "tree" when I see the name. I like Elowen Kate and have it on my list, along with other long "a" names, Elowen Faith and Elowen Maeve. While I love Violet, Elowen Violet reads, for me, as noun noun, "tree" "flower". I do have Elowen Brooke on my list, and it's "noun" "noun" as well, but I see a tree-lined spring, so it manages to work for me. Wendy or Wenda also work as nicknames, but I like the ones you list too. Some other ideas...Elowen Gail - makes me think of wind through the trees
Elowen Faye
Elowen Amy
Elowen Carys
Elowen Cora
Elowen Julia
Elowen Sophie
Elowen Sadie
Elowen Tess

GailThank you for suggesting this! I hadn't even thought of using Gail, and it's actually my aunt's name. We're quite close, so it would be nice to honour her. I know what you mean when you say it makes you think of wind through the trees...Elowen Gail just sounds so lovely :)
